i am unable to get hold of this magazine if i use a decade counter would it be ok to use three leds on each output to create this effect

Let me know what decade counter you are using?
And the effect that you would like to use, as if I cannot guess.
I have in the past use 4017 decimal counters to create some great light displays.
And when the sequence is sorted, you should be able to add as many LEDís as you like, with the help of say a transistor or two.
I have almost 2000 LEDís running off, 1 counter

Hi paul I am using the 4017be decade COUNTER WHICH IS clocked by the ne555
the effect i want is for three leds to light up at any one time giving the effect of the heart shape is spinning i can remember the original project connecting the leds in 3s and used 24 standard red leds i would be grateful for your help I am working on a christmas project at the moment using different colour leds what would I need inorder to power say 600 leds from my 4017be
