I was just wondering of how fast can we rotate a stepper motor?
Could the speed reach to some 1500 rpm?

Those would be called 'fast stepper motors'

You drive the stepper with the signal you need to turn it at the required speed. If it starts to 'slip' then you use more current.

You'll need to look at the specs for each particular motor to find out how much power you can put into it before if fries.

A fast rate for most small stepping motors is 1000 steps per second - so for a 200 step motor that will be 5 revs per second or 300 rpm.

I think you need a very special stepping motor to reach 1000 rpm or more.

Isn't the maximum current limited by the windings resistance? Or are you telling to increase Vcc?

But even then sure there is a limit?

Not entirely.

Energy is transferred from the coils to the magnetic fields, and from there to the rotor and (physical) load.

The average current consumption, for a particular motor and RPM, is a function of the torque. Or to put it another way. In order to maintain a particular RPM with a particular motor, you need to balance the current with the torque.

Try measuring it.
