It's a little early in the year but if anyone is involved in am-dram or is planning ahead (ha) for halloween there's a partwork magazine in the shops for 99p called 'How Your Body Works' and it's got a rather impressive plastic skull complete with teeth and movable jaw which I'm currently adding servos and LEDs to. Issue 2 has the top of the skull and a brain for 2.99 :-)

Apologies for the dreadful pun...

Tee hee -- I saw the mag in my local store yesterday -- I wondered if it's ripe for a sound-activated motor to make the jaw move automagically.

The downside was that it reminded me of my forthcoming dental appointment to have a tooth taken out :-((

Alan,
I just talked to your dentist and he reckons your teeth are fine, but he is going to have to remove your gums.

Oh it's very suitable for animatronics, the eye sockets have holes which are a a push fit for 5mm LEDs and the jaw works well with a subminiature servo once you cut away the moulded plastic springs.

I need to go hunting for eyeballs as I want it to have moving eyes and I'll also look out for a cheap movement sensor (perhaps from one of those air fresheners) to trigger the movement. I'm going to play with Roman Black's BTL sound algorithm as well.

Hello all,

I used a board from an old burglar alarm, my scarecrow saying "Intruder, intruder" won me a prize a long time ago!

There may be one or two PIR sensors in the junkbox but I can't look for a day or few...

Regards Ant
