Having just wrecked 2 OLEDs by failing to solder to the 0.85mm FPC I'm after another... Is Ebay the best (just looked there) or somewhere else?

One problem is the displays I've seen have some combination of
- Funny pitch FPC (0.85mm)
- Extremely small
- Pricy

Looking for at least 128x32px and say 3cm wide or more.

Well, Rapid have one, 128x64
Don't know if £26 is a good price or not.

Looks like it has a flexible connecting strip, so you may be able to get a PCB mount socket that suits.

They also have a 100x32 (smaller than you wanted I know), but it has a regular 0.1" connector.

Perhaps the manufacturer have some others with similar 0.1" connections but slightly larger pixel area.

Hmm..thanks for looking it up. I was hoping for something cheaper, but many of the very cheap ones are tiny (under 1" wide"). One problem was I also could not easily find 30+ way 0.85mm FPC/FFC connector, esp at reasonable cost. Just tried Sparkfun, but similar story.

Ever thought of driving the data vai a serial command string (as per sparkfun) .. I use these all the time.

I looked at Sparkfun yesterday, they do have some nice displays. The OLEDs I was going to use had parallel and serial I/F, but not an (ASCII?) command I/F.
