Back to phonemes again - I'm making progress.

But the datasheet for the SP0256 speech chip I pulled in from the C.Lewis site curiously does not have an allocation for the letter "U".

The rest of the alphabet are there, some with several variants depending on how they are pronounced in a word, but nothing for "U". Does anyone have a datasheet for the SP0256 which shows "U" and its code number(s), allocated symbol, duration, example word, etc, even perhaps a copy of the complete datasheet they could let me have via EPE?

I'd be very greatful for any info. Thanks :-)

Hi John,
The Radio Shack data sheet shows that the letter 'u' is YY1 UW2. The sheet that I have isn't the best as far as being legible, but can email you the PDF file if you like. File size is 142K.

Many Thanks Mike, I've emailed you privately. I would much appreciate that extra info, and thanks for that here.

J :-)

I didn't see any private email, John. If you want to try directly, my email address is mcubed2-at-hughes.net.

Mike, I dont fully understand your email. Do you mean I should key in "m" 3 times, followed by numeral "2"? I understand the rest.

I rarely get private emails to work via this CZ.

I'll risk putting my own here -

key in number "106136" then a dot, then number "625" followed by the [at] symbol, then "compuserve.com"

The problem was NOT you John. I just checked my profile and saw that my email address was still going to Direcway. Hughes took over Direcway last spring and, while the account names remained the same, the host name changed. I've updated my email info here but I'll shoot you a short email first to make sure I have yours correctly.
