Old but i still like the analogue VU. Easy to install, drive, calibrate, read. Do not like the blur of 7 seg displays. The easy pace of an Avo -8 with a 741 i/p from EE many years back. Good for me. Looked on Net.Any one think of an outlet may have missed. Poss a manufacturer has old stocks. Best to all......graham

Hello Graham,

cz hyphen aja at t8o dot org will get here.

Personally I preferred BBC PPMs!

RS sell VU meters, i.e., TRUE VU meters, because an arbitrary moving coil meter with a dB calibrated scale is not a VU meter; it has to have very specific response characteristics to be called a VU meter.

Hello all,

That is probably correct, certainly the BBC PPMs are made to a very specific specification. Without looking, I think I have large, probably ex-professional types as well as the small square ones which should still be ok as one often sees similar on professional equipment.

I recently purchased 6 VU meters from here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7071

All look brand new and the one I have tested works fine.
Thank you for not breeding.

P.S.

I have also gotten other stuff from here. Good value for money. Free delivery, though it takes a while.
Thank you for not breeding.
