I briefly discussed, with John Becker, EPE's/EE's contribution over the years to innovation in electronics. I know that some of my own designs were, in principle, groundbreaking, and several companies put them into production. But that's not my focus here, unless someone should have a special interest. What interests me is EPE's overall contribution to innovation over the years. Which designs and concepts made an original contribution to the world of electronics? I can think of one immediately, although it's a trivial example: the 3.5mm to 0.25" jack plug adapter (I forget which issue). Personally, I consider that editor/publisher Mike Kenward's author policy had a lot to do with the innovations published in EPE/EE. He greatly encouraged this.
